Coaching Fastpitch Softball DVD or Video - $25

The Fundamentals of Softball Pitching, with Marty Grant.
A 37 minute DVD or video with instruction on the basic fundamentals of also pitching and putting it all together with rhythmn, sequence and timing.

Marty demonstrates a number of useful pitching drills and finishes the video with a section on frequently asked questions.

The Basic Skills of the Catcher with Bevan Martin - price $25

A 24 minute DVD or video, presented by New Zealand Black Sox player Bevan Martin, discuss the basic skills every developing catcher needs to master.  All prices are GST inclusive. Postage extra.

Softball Coaching Planner - $45.00

Compiled by SNZ coaches & endorsed by successful Black Sox coach Don Tricker. This A5 size folder fits nicely into your training bag. It has useful information on all aspects of softball skills and has a section on season planning and useful templates. The pitching component of this manual is written by Marty Grant. He describes the skills required to pitch efficiently and effectively and has a full range of drills to try. A great buy! 

Coach Development Courses

Essential Skills

(For Junior Club, School & Junior Representative Coaches) There are plans to modulise this unit along similar lines to the CAU modules. More information about this will be available soon. In the meantime the Essential Skills Unit remains as a 6 hour course for beginning and intermediate coaches expanding on the teaching of the basic fundamentals of softball play; coaching principles; teaching methods and how to run team training. The course participant will receive six hours of coaching from an accredited Softball New Zealand presenter, a DVD presentation, an Essential Skills manual, and a certificate of recognition on successful completion of the course. The Induction Unit is not a pre-requisite for entry to the Essential Skills of Softball Unit.

The Competitive Pitcher

A 4 hour pitching module for; Premier & Senior Club Coaches; Provincial Age Grade Coaches. The module builds and expands on the knowledge and experience gained by coaches who have successfully completed earlier accreditation. Minimum pre-requisite entry is Level 1/Essential Skills of Softball. The module has workshop, Pitching Mechanics; Velocity; Control; Movement; Faults & Fixes; Pitching Practice and Pitching Tactics. The module participant will receive a minimum of 4 hours of coaching from an accredited Softball New Zealand presenter, course work book, points towards your accreditation or coaching license and a certificate on successful completion of the course.
