Softball NZ is calling for the following position of Sports Medic/Strapper – White Sox.

In 2010 the New Zealand women’s softball program is focused on the New Zealand White Sox squad and team as they contest the World Championship. This role provides support to the coaches and players through the delivery of basic first aid treatment, sports massage and preventative strapping. The successful candidate will be required to attend the World Championship in Venezuela and be available from June 13th through to July 6th. This is a self funded position.

The position is responsible to the Softball New Zealand High Performance Manager and to the White Sox Head Coach and Manager.

A. PRIMARY JOB PURPOSE

The role of the New Zealand White Sox Sports Medic/Strapper is to:

• Provide support to the White Sox squad through preventative and rehabilitative strapping, preventative and rehabilitative massage and provision of first aid where required.

• Assist the Head Coach to ensure that all members of New Zealand White Sox are totally prepared, mentally and physically, for the World Championship.

• Along with other team management, implement values and responsibilities that will ensure discipline and appropriate behaviours in the New Zealand Team environment.
