Rookie & Emerging Sox National Pitching and Catching Programs

NATIONAL ROOKIE & EMERGING SOX PITCHING & CATCHING PROGRAMMES

Softball New Zealand has developed a National Pitching & Catching Programme targeting the under 13 (Rookie Sox), 15 and 18 (Emerging Sox) age groups. The identified age groups align with the National Player & Coach Development Pathway.

The purpose of the programmes are to increase the quality and quantity of pitching and catching stocks across New Zealand. Through these programmes young ball players will receive the necessary opportunities to acquire the essential skills of being a pitcher or a catcher.

Those interested in becoming an instructor should refer to the documents below, complete and submit the application form to your affiliated association for approval. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to deliver a 6 x week program to one or more of the above age groups. All instructors will be well supported and compensated for their time through a user pays system.

Please note SNZ is looking for instructors capable of delivering a quality experience to up and coming pitchers and catchers for both genders. Applications are not limited to coaches, players and volunteers capable of delivering may also apply.

If you have any questions regarding the programme please contact Glen Roff, SNZ Softball Manager on Mobile: 021537082 or Email: glen@softball.org.nz
