Fastpitch was designed for action, right from the 'get go'. A game designed for instant action or a tool to practice game situations in a preseason tournament.
A popular form of the game with its own national competition in the early 90's, Fastpitch is still played today at various levels throughout New Zealand.
3 balls as opposed to 4 for a walk, teams starting most innings with runners already on base (similar to 8 inning tie breaker rule) creating a fast and furious form of the game.
