JWSX READY ON THE EVE OF WORLD CHAMPS

We have trained in temperatures that people can only dream of back in New Zealand, but it's the humidity that is difficult. Today we had our jersey ceremony and as usual the players and management were very emotional. Our guest speaker Paul Walford who was an ex Black Sox player, gave an inspiring speech to the girls. The girls themselves were excited to get their kit on, and all were articulate in their own interpretation of what it meant playing for New Zealand. We have just arrived home from the Opening ceremony at Clearwater Beach, and it was probably the most dynamic display I have seen with 26 countries present.

Tomorrow at 4pm we take on Puerto Rico, which will be the toughest game in our pool, they are gritty and mentally tough but I am looking forward to the challenge. Our supporters have all arrived with a total of about 35, they have been looking forward to this moment to watch their daughters play. Our lineup will be as tough as any, and I am confident we can hit any Pitcher here, but will need to play well to beat the Puerto Ricon's.
