I am sure that most of you reading this follow the US season pretty closely to keep tabs on your friends playing in the states/Canada. The ISC championship is about 6 weeks away, which is what everyone plays for. In 2006, the ISC board of directors voted to allow 4 spots in each world tournament to be filled by teams outside North America. It's my job to fill those spots. In recent years, we've had teams from Denmark, Netherlands, Australia, Czech Republic, Bahamas, and Guatemala come to the ISC. 1988 was the only time New Zealand sent a team over (Auckland Marist) after they won the National League title. Earlier this month, I sent invitations and ISC guide books to about 15 clubs in NZ with an open invitation to bring a Kiwi team to the ISC.

Please drop me a note if you have any interest in bringing your club team to the ISC tournament. Or.... you can assemble a team. You will have no roster restrictions and are free to pick up anyone from anywhere in New Zealand. If you want/need players from outside NZ, the international teams are permitted 3 foreigners. Believe me, I know assembling a team and bringing them to the US is an expensive proposition. But, it also might be worth while too. I can help with scheduling pre-tournament exhibition games and travel preparations.
