At the Whangarei Tournament in 1988, the AGM decided to do away with the necessity of a National Secretary and President, and passed a motion that the Tournaments be organized directly by the respective Association Secretaries, and Presidents, and so it is today. Mr. Allan Chee, the last of the National Secretaries, had purchased a briefcase which was to contain all the original and continuing correspondence, balance sheets, cheque accounts, etc., and this has since been passed on from Secretary to Secretary.

Mr. ALF BROWN started another long tradition in 1981 by donating his "YELLOW JACKET", which all N.Z. Officials wore for the 1976 World Series in Lower Hutt.

The Jacket has become like a Master's presentation, and is passed on each year from the Tournament organizer to the next in line.
