Roger Plachta who is the softball coach at the University of Wisconsin Superior is looking for players. If you are interested please contact him via email: rplachta@uwsuper.edu . He has said in the email to Softball New Zealand that it is a div 111 school and I am looking for players that want to get a great education at a very affordable price. I can get any player in school for in state tuition the same as a local kid would pay.

Softballers in New Zealand

just wanted to contact you about our program that we offer at Okaloosa Walton College. First of all let me tell you a little about our college. We are a Division 1 Junior College located in Niceville, Florida. We are about 10 minutes from Destin. Our program is fully funded including 12 full scholarships and 10 partial scholarships. Our full scholarships including housing, which are two or one bedroom apartments (you only have to pay cable but no utilities), books, tuition, meal plan, and $75 dollars a week to eat on. Our facilities are on the best in the state. The conference we play in which is the Panhandle Conference is one of the toughest in the country and is know for producing many Division 1 athletes. OWC is centrally located around many Division 1 and 2 schools such as Auburn, Georgia, South Alabama, Florida State, Florida, Georgia
Tech, and many more.

For next year we are currently recruiting athletes for next year. Our academics would place you well ahead for you venture into a four year school. We provide a plan that fits your needs and would put you where you need to be for your future. I think that you would be the right fit for our school both athletically and academically.

Thanks,
Coach Baskin baskine@owc.edu

Softball players who want scholarships to play

My name is Jeff Daniels. I lived in NZ and played professional basketball 16 years and have just moved back to the states. I have just set up a company trying to help NZ players to get scholarships to come play softball in America. Right know I am in contact with over 30 coaches just in my area that are searching for good talent and have full scholarships available to give, but the problem is Coaches here want to see what type of player they are recruiting that is why it is so hard for NZ players to get scholarships. Coaches in America want to talk to the player face to face to determine what type of character the player has. When they are offering scholarships worth $22,000 US they want to make sure it is a good investment. Also it is important that the player goes with someone who understands the American way and can help talk to coaches. I will take the players to schools in the area for tryouts. I have often heard of players from NZ coming to the states to visit a couple of schools and go away empty handed. I have been in contact with many coaches from NCAA D1, D2, D3, NAIA, and junior colleges. They are all looking for players and have scholarships available. Now is the time to act and get kids here for recruiting is taking place.

As an example, I have just had Cameron Stuart here from NZ and after visiting only 2 schools he received 2 full scholarships (room and board, Books, and tuition). This young man who nobody thought could play is now on his way to fulfill his dream of playing basketball in the states. Cam has never played for any rep team in NZ. He lives on the North Shore but could never get a tryout with North Harbour. Cam fathers name is Bruce Stuart if you would like to give him a call 09-475-5511 or 0272555557. I also helped Mada Adelhamid last year receive a scholarship. If you have players that are interested please pass on my info.
