• To maintain, and further develop, an umpiring programme focussed on quality delivery to all participants.
• To create an environment, which enables successful recruitment, retention and recognition of all, involved with umpiring at any level.
• To seek continuous improvement by both developing and adopting world best practice.
• To provide an effective communication and training structure through the Local, Regional and National umpiring staff and to develop the New Zealand umpiring website.

International Appointments - 7 June 2008
Please join me in congratulating Rikki Thompson from Central Otago and John Hickman from Marlborough on their International umpiring appointments.
Both travel to Australia in late June or early July. Rikki Thompson has been appointed to travel with the Junior Boys Development Team whilst John Hickman will travel with the Junior Girls Development Team.
