Rookie & Developing Sox National Pitching and Catching Programmes

NATIONAL ROOKIE & DEVELOPING SOX PITCHING & CATCHING PROGRAMMES
Softball New Zealand has developed a National Pitching & Catching Programme targeting the under 13 (Rookie Sox), 13 - 18 (Developing Sox) age groups. The identified age groups align with the National Player & Coach Development Pathway.

The purpose of the programmes is to increase the quality and quantity of pitching and catching stocks across New Zealand. Through these programmes young ball players will receive the necessary opportunities to acquire the essential skills of being a pitcher or a catcher.

The position of pitcher is not only the key position on a team but often the difference in a team taking the diamond and able to compete. It is imperative development pitching and catching programmes are implemented across the regions if our game is to be sustainable on the domestic front and for NZ to continue to enjoy success on the international stage.

Coaches and instructors capable of delivering a quality experience to up and coming pitchers and catchers are welcome to download the following programmes.

If you have any questions regarding the programme please contact Glen Roff, SNZ Softball Manager on Mobile: 021537082 or Email: glen@softball.org.nz
