Mid-winter is a great time to plan ahead for the upcoming softball 2018/19 season and ensuring your club will have enough members trained to score junior games is a vital aspect to our sport.
In the past, many clubs have handled this by running evening scoring clinics over several nights to teach parent volunteers how to score. But as our member’s schedules get busier and busier, committing to attend evening sessions can result in reduced numbers and fewer people putting their hand’s up to fulfill this important role.
Here’s an opportunity to change the way your club trains scorers using technology. Softball Scoring Fundamental (SSF) is an online course that is now available! Now your members can learn to score on their own time, at their own pace, from their computer or device at home.
SSF was designed to cover all aspects of scoring from the very basics of using symbols to record balls/strikes and runs/outs to more advanced like substitutions and errors. SSF includes practice activities, printable job aids and video footage of real games. And because it is online, learners can review bits and pieces to refresh their skills from previous seasons. Check out this intro video.
Working closely with Softball New Zealand and the Howick Softball Club, Complete Learning Solutions designed and developed SSF in 2017. It is available to clubs for a license price of $299, for up to 20 users. This includes the first year of hosting. Thereafter, the cost of online hosting for each club would be $89 per year.
Early bird discount: For the clubs who sign up by the 1st August, we are offering a special discount of 20%.
