Softball New Zealand invites everyone involved in our game to review a discussion document exploring how we could strengthen the way softball is supported and delivered across Aotearoa.
Our sport relies on dedicated people in associations and clubs, many of whom volunteer significant time. With limited resources and different levels of capacity around the country, we want to explore how working together could provide more consistent support and reduce pressure on those delivering the game.
The document outlines a potential model connecting Softball New Zealand with three regional delivery hubs: North, Central and South. These hubs could support game development, tournaments, funding, shared systems and capability building, while associations retain their local identity and member voice.
This is a discussion document, and we want your input to help shape the next steps.
Players, whānau, volunteers, coaches, umpires, scorers, administrators, clubs, associations and supporters are all encouraged to review the ideas and consider:
What would make the biggest difference in your community?
What work could be shared regionally, and what should remain local?
What opportunities, concerns or alternatives should we explore?
Read the discussion document below and share your feedback with Softball New Zealand.
Together, we can shape a stronger, more sustainable future for our game.
We welcome any feedback which you can send to ceo@softball.org.nz
