Perfect Record for Black Sox

The Black Sox made it a perfect record at the Canberra Skins tournament at the weekend.
The side won all seven of their games, including impressive performances against Australian pitchers Andrew Kirkpatrick and Adam Folkard.
“Ultimately we are building toward the 2013 world championship,” team representative Jayden Moore said.
“That is the main focus for us and these games are just part of that mission.
“The boys executed the plays we wanted them to.”
Kirkpatrick and Folkard played major roles in the Australia’s world championship victory in 2009 but were unable to find any answer to the batting power of the Black Sox at the weekend.
Kirkpatrick conceded nine hits when the Black Sox beat his club side 11-0 and Folkard gave up five hits for the Black Sox to win that game 5-0.
“There was some good batting efforts from us all weekend,” Moore said.

Black Sox concentrate on 2013 World Championships 24/11/2011
The Black Sox are totally committed to winning the 2013 World Championships despite the withdrawal of current squad members Brad Rona, Ben Enoka and Pita Rona. The three players have decided to put all their energy into pursuing a career in baseball.

At a meeting at the Waitakere Bears Softball Club on Monday night all three expressed a desire to represent New Zealand in baseball. As a result of this decision the players believe it is in their best interests to withdraw from consideration for future Black Sox teams. Black Sox management respect this decision and wish the three players good luck on their baseball journey.

Coach Eddie Kohlhase said: "These players want to look at a career in baseball so we wish them every success with that. Our aim is to have 17 fully focused athletes intent on winning the world title at Rosedale Park in March, 2013. We are single-minded in achieving that goal."

Diamonds in the Sun - Book Launch

Ed Doledj

To All My Valued Friends

Some of you have known about this book for awhile. Others will know nothing about.

It is the life story of my father and our family and how we ended up in NZ. It covers Dad's life from his birth, growing up during the Great Depression. In the army in Germany and than his softball career in NZ where he was the first and last coach to win a medal (four of them) at a World Championships. Of course after that comes the 18 year caretaking of my beloved mother and what happens next.

We have been overwhelmed with the number of people interested in coming to the Book Launch.

I hope you are able to make it despite the late notice.

It is a story that will move you to tears. It will challenge your beliefs and inspire you to make more out of your life.

We will mail a book to you anywhere in the world.
