It was the Czech Republic and Denmark that qualified for the world cup first. Both nations automatically qualified when they reached the final of the European Cup in June 2021.

The Czech’s defeated Denmark 4-2 to claim its fifth consecutive European title in Ledenice, Czech Republic.

The Czech Republic, which has won nine European Championships, is placed fifth going into the World Cup, while Denmark is ranked tenth.

The Czech performance at the U18 Men's Global Cup in 2020 contributed to their rise in the WBSC world rankings. The European powerhouse defeated Argentina in the Bronze Medal Game, 2-0, to win their first medal in the history of the young competition.

Czech ace Jakub Osicka was named top pitcher of the tournament and will be a key figure to watch in Auckland this November, December.
