CAPTAIN'S CORNER – PALLAS POTTER

Written by Pallas Potter on May 17th, 2017.      0 comments

A major goal for the season has just been to be one of the travelling players going to the Junior World Championships in Florida. To be selected as one of the seventeen players is a huge honour for me. To be offered the role as captain was even bigger, everything has come as a huge shock, I am so privileged and humbled.

If I compared this years team to our last World Championship in 2015 there were a lot more older players that have experienced that higher calibre of softball in the States. This year’s team there are a lot more younger players with eleven of the seventeen players still eligible for the 2019 World Championships. The competition is going to be tough over there with 2 weeks of tough games. It is all going to come down to us playing as a team and being physically fit and most importantly mentally strong. We are using the motto get comfortable being uncomfortable, and to be aggressive without backing down to teams. All of us need to make huge sacrifices as we prepare for this journey. I am so excited, I cannot wait and hopefully I can attend a school in the USA.
