Southern Teams Confirmed For National League Finals

The Sporting Edge Halswell Hornets have taken out the FASTBALL 45® Southern Regional Women’s Qualifier with a comprehensive victory over Kaiapoi Queens 11-6 this afternoon.

Queens were no match for the aggressive Hornets who put on a master class of how to play FASTBALL 45®. The Hornets, who played with contact and speed amassed their 11 runs off just 3 hits.

White Sox pitcher Amy Begg who shut down the opposition was rarely rattled making light work of her 2 and third innings.

ELE Papanui Tigers men’s team also booked themselves a spot in the National League final with a heavy hitting display crushing the PCU Devils 5-0.

The tigers who took a long ball approach collected 6 hits including 5 RBI’s off the bat of Tyron Bartorillo. Bartorillo hit a 3 run blast over the right field fence in the top of the first to power his team ahead early in the game.

The National League Finals will include a male and female team from Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch and battle it out at ELE Stadium, Albany 11-13 Dec.
