My name is Rosanne Allan and I am from Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada. I am with the ISC, and also have a FB page called Canadian Fastball/American Softball. I am writing to you, as I will be travelling to NZ from the 17th of Jan until the 17th of April by myself, and am hoping to connect with people willing to host me for a few days (willing to help out around the house, as I do painting and flooring for a living), would like to watch/help as many ball games as possible, and travel throughout North and South Island. This has been on my bucket list for years, and I am finally able to make it happen, but having a few places to stay would certainly help out. If anyone knows of anyone with room to spare, that would be awesome.
A little bit about me, I'm a young 57 year old, self-employed (painting & flooring), single Mom with an almost 29 year old daughter Jessica. I'm a non-smoker, responsible social drinker, love to travel (however this is my first solo trip). I played softball/fastball for years, but never had the opportunity to play at a higher level, as there wasn't anything available in my heyday. My employment has varied over the years, due to moves with a husband and companies closing. I have been married and divorced twice, single for almost 28 years.
My connection to the ISC started in 2006, when I assisted in helping Dave Blackburn with the live video streaming of the tournament, this "position" lasted until 2014 when the ISC decided to use an outside organization. From 2015 forward I have assisted with pointstreak online scoring. My daughter will not be travelling with me, however has been part of the ISC since 2007 as well. Not part of any other ball organization, we just love to go to ball tournaments, where I enjoy taking photos and sharing them with players, teams, family and friends, hence my FB page.
I have painted the interior and exterior of homes and businesses (brush & roller-no spraying). For flooring I have laid non-ceramic, ie; laminate/click flooring and allure flooring (1 edge is sticky and overlaps), as well as some dricore sub-flooring in lower levels (basements) of homes. I'm always willing to learn and give it a go, when the homeowner says "go for it".
If you have any other questions, or if anyone does, please feel free to ask away.
