Applications are now open for the position of Golden Homes New Zealand Black Sox Head Coach.

New Zealand has been a consistent world leader at the elite level of international softball. The national men’s team, the Black Sox, has won seven world championships 1976, 1984, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2013 and 2017. The team is currently ranked number one in the world.

This Head Coach - Black Sox leads the senior men’s programme toward the main focus, which is winning the World Baseball Softball Congress (WBSC) World Championships held every two years. This includes leading the planning, coaching, application of sport science, management of programme staff and management of the national squad and extended national squad through camps, tours, international series and other preparation leading into and including the World Championships in February 2021.

Applications are now open for the position of New Zealand Junior White Sox Head Coach.

The New Zealand Junior White Sox (JWSX) are part of the Softball New Zealand (Softball NZ) player pathway and in line with senior high-performance programmes.

The key focus for the JWSX programme is the preparation and development of under 18 athletes toward future winning performances for the junior and senior national women’s team on the international stage.

The JWSX Head Coach in conjunction with the greater high-performance programme will lead the planning, coaching and support to selected athletes culminating in a number of camps including; the Oceania Qualifier in Australia February 2020, the WBSC Junior Women’s 2020 U-18 World Cup (Date TBC) and the following WBSC U-18 World Cup proposed for 2022.

In March 2021 New Zealand will host the Men’s Softball World Cup. We are looking for committed volunteers to join the Board of Directors of 2021 Softball Limited, which is a subsidiary of North Harbour Softball Association. Each Director will be responsible for providing governance and leadership of a defined portfolio as part of their Board role. Meetings will be held monthly and possibly more frequently in the months leading up to the event. We need people with marketing, social media, commercial and event management knowledge and experience as well as a passion for sport.
