Litefoot & LiteCLUB

Litefoot is a charitable trust led by top sportspeople. Since 2008 they’ve been competing against each other to see who can reduce their environmental impact the most. Their purpose is to inspire New Zealanders to be environmental champions.

Where we want you to get involved is via a program aimed at community sport called liteCLUB

What is liteCLUB?

liteCLUB is an entirely free service that we encourage our Softball affiliates to tap into
It pinpoints opportunities to help sports clubs save money by showing them ways to be more efficient with electricity, water and waste.

Through liteCLUB, you can check out how many clubs in each sporting code have signed up to the program and be a little competitive about it.
Currently only 3 % of our softball clubs are tapping into this service and we want more to be involved!!

How does LiteCLUB work?

  1. The LiteCLUB team do a club visit. A dedicated team visits the club to install free energy saving products (lightbulbs, insulation and aerators). Their eco-desing advisor assesses the building in detail.

  1. An Efficient action plan is created. The LiteCLUB team send the club a report setting out a range of recommendations that will help the club further reduce environmental impact, freeing up more money for the sport

  1. Member + fundraising programme: Via club newsletters and activities, they try to get club members involved by encouraging them to make the same positive changes at home, creating a fundraising opportunity for the club.
