Daniel again proved to be one of the World’s leading pitchers and athletes. After having major back surgery in the off-season Daniel worked hard and proved to be a model athlete in terms of how to rehabilitate. Daniel went into the World Cup without having thrown too many pitches, this did not stop him performing and giving some outstanding performances. This was backed up later in the season when he pitched his Ramblers side to the New Zealand Club title, with no less than a perfect game. An outstanding achievement at any level, never mind the pinnacle club event in New Zealand.
